An exciting opportunity has become available in Lymington Eye Outpatients for a Band 4 Associate Practitioner. This is a full time position. Lymington Eye Outpatients provide a positive work life balance with clinics currently running from Monday-Friday with an 8am-6pm shift pattern.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who demonstrates great professionalism and has leadership skills they would like to further develop.The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of roles & responsibilities that includes visual acuity assessment, measure intra-ocular pressures, instil eye drops when needed, assisting the clinicians in running laser list, and operate various imaging equipment's. We also support clinics at our Main Ophthalmology site in Southampton General Hospital, so some off site working will be required.
Although this is an Ophthalmology outpatients position, knowledge and experience in Ophthalmology is not essential- training can be provided. Strong leadership skills will be a positive.

About us
Main duties:1. Establish and maintain communication with a range of people on a range of matters in a form that is appropriate to them and the situation.2.Carry out Visual Acuity Assessment, measure Intra-Ocular pressure, instil eye drops as needed and assist clinicians running laser lists.3. Conduct test of patient's Visual Fields for diagnosis and treatment using the Humphrey Visual Field analyser.4. Complete imaging of patient's Retina, Optic Discs, Corneas using a variety of equipment including Fundus camera and software programmes for retinal photography.5. Identify the required test, and depending on patient performance, decide to repeat or abandon procedure.6. Monitoring of equipment levels and equipment performance, reporting and ordering supplies, ordering and liaising with manufactures as to service and repair.7. Responsible for the delivery of specialised clinical diagnostic imaging procedures, which meet the highest possible standards with a very high degree of reproducibility.8. Empower the team to highlight areas for change and development.9. Develop own knowledge and skills, and provide information to others to help their development.
