Cygnet Health Care is looking for an experienced Autism Support Worker (Days) to join the 10‑bed Cygnet Nightingale residential service in Bournemouth (BH6). This permanent, full‑time post is a 42‑hour contract working long day shifts from 7:45am–7:45pm on a 3/4 rota (two weekends a month). You’ll support adults (18+) with autism and learning disabilities—some with complex communication needs and behaviours that challenge—by assisting with daily living tasks (cooking, cleaning, personal care), promoting independence and life skills, joining residents in local community activities (cinema, swimming, college) and keeping accurate records to monitor health and wellbeing. Successful applicants must hold a full UK driving licence (2 years) and be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

This role suits caring, communicative people—particularly women with hands‑on experience or transferable caring skills—who want meaningful, structured work within a supportive team. Desirable experience includes working with adults with autism or learning disabilities and an understanding of challenging behaviour; strong teamwork and a positive, patient approach are essential. The position offers clear rewards and development: £26,748.80–£27,788.80 per year (from £12.86 rising to £13.36 per hour), fully paid induction and training, 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), paid breaks, a contributory pension and an NHS Blue Light discount card.
