Cygnet Health Care rqK00rRF
Job description
Support adults with autism and learning disabilities to live more independently at The Squirrels, a nine‑bed residential service in Chilworth (SO16) run by Cygnet Health Care. This permanent, full‑time Autism Support Worker (Days) role is 42 hours per week on a rota that can start from 7.00am and run until 10.00pm, covering seven days with two weekends a month. You will provide practical and emotional support—helping with cooking, cleaning and personal care while promoting independence, developing life skills, attending community activities (cinema, swimming, even night‑time venues), and keeping accurate records to monitor health and wellbeing. The service supports adults aged 18+ who may have complex needs, communication challenges and behaviours that challenge; an enhanced DBS check is required.
This opportunity is especially suited to compassionate, organised carers and women looking for a meaningful day‑time role where teamwork, strong communication and flexibility matter; previous experience with autism or learning disabilities and an understanding of challenging behaviour are desirable. Cygnet offers competitive pay of £26,748.80–£27,788.80 per year (approx. £12.86 rising to £13.36 per hour), a free meal on shift, Blue Light discount card, fully paid training and induction, 28 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays), paid breaks, a contributory pension and a wide range of staff benefits via Cygnet’s online portal.
