Job description
Step into a pivotal role with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 8a Practitioner Psychologist, contributing to the Enhanced Support Service at HMP Drake Hall. This opportunity invites you to be at the forefront of extending the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway services. Situated in the serene setting of Eccleshall, HMP Drake Hall is strategically placed within easy reach of north Birmingham, Staffordshire, Shropshire, and south Cheshire. As part of one of the largest women's prisons in the UK, you'll engage in meaningful work centred around rehabilitation and reintegration. Your expertise will play a key role in fostering improved psychological wellbeing, enhancing motivation for personal development, and shaping the future of sentence planning. You'll be an integral part of a collaborative team, working directly with both prison residents and staff to cultivate a psychologically informed environment.
This position offers the enriching experience of diverse supervision models, including CBT, CAT, DBT, EMDR, and CFT, alongside individual and group reflective spaces. As the lead for day-to-day delivery, you will manage referrals, conduct clinical assessments, and develop comprehensive case formulations. Your empathetic and resilient nature will allow you to thrive in a setting that requires both autonomy and teamwork. If you have a background in working with adults with personality disorders, challenging behaviour, and complex needs, this role provides a meaningful platform for you to influence positive change and support multidisciplinary efforts.
