Job description
Would you like to try out a new area of work to see if you enjoy it, work part time to supplement other roles or are you moving to a new area and would like to find out more about services there? If so, there is a full time or part time vacancy for 12 months to cover maternity leave in a friendly and supportive CMHT with lot of other psychological professionals working there. It is based at Longbridge Health and Community Centre in South Birmingham and is working with adults with mental health difficulties in the community. This post offers easily accessible travel routes including trains and buses and free parking.
This is an ideal post to apply your full range of psychological skills and knowledge including consultation, supervision, service development and leadership in addition to direct clinical work. It is a stimulating time in the service as the post-holders will be supporting the transformation of our Community Services in BSMHFT.
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (or equivalent applied Psychological Practitioner). Applicants for a band 7 post are also encouraged to apply if they do not currently have suitable experience for an 8a banding. We would welcome you to visit the centre and answer any questions you may have.
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and skilled clinicians who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. The individual will have excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions, both individual and in groups. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.
We have an established track record in service innovation supporting a diverse range of clinical and academic interest, with time for research and teaching related activities built into many of our psychological professions job plans. There are clear career paths for psychologists in the service who join us, and we are committed to your development through training and supervision.
