Job description
This hands-on Band 3 Theatre Support Worker role is based in Solihull (B90) within a community day-case foot surgery unit that runs theatre sessions two days a week, with the remainder spent on clinical duties. You will provide direct patient care across dressing clinics and pre-operative assessments, take basic observations and vascular checks, assist with admitting, recovering and discharging patients during the perioperative period, and support in theatre as a circulating and monitoring assistant (including WHO checklist completion and NEWS2 observations with appropriate escalation). You will also manage stock replenishment and order surgical equipment and consumables to ensure every operative case runs smoothly.
The post is ideal for caring, organised candidates with theatre experience and an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (GCSEs in English and Maths and basic IT skills required). You’ll join a values-driven Trust that supports diversity and reasonable adjustments, with training to build your confidence to work unsupervised once competent. This fixed-term, full-time role (7 months) offers flexible working, sits on Agenda for Change Band 3 with a salary of £24,937–£26,598, and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
