Job summary
Theatre support assistant to work in community-based day case foot surgery unit, which operates theatre sessions two days a week, with the remaining days composed of clinical work.

Main duties of the job
Direct patient care -- including dressing clinics/pre-operative assessment clinics, including basic observations and vascular assessments. Assisting on the ward with admitting, recovering & discharging patients during the perioperative period. In theatre, roles include circulating and monitoring of the patient, including the WHO checklist and observations including NEWS2 with appropriate escalation as required.Stock replenishment -- in clinical areas.Ordering of general stock plus surgical equipment & consumables to ensure that all essential equipment is available for each operative case.
