Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is looking for a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist or Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band 5/6) to join the Microbiology team at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant (CF72 8XR). This permanent, full‑time role (37.5 hours/week) supports diagnostic microbiology across the Royal Glamorgan and Prince Charles sites. You will work on a 7‑day rota and participate in overnight on‑call duties; Agenda for Change enhancements are paid. Candidates should hold an accredited degree in Biomedical Science and current professional registration. The service welcomes experienced post‑registration Microbiology scientists for Band 6, IBMS‑registered scientists with an accredited degree for Band 5, or those without a completed Specialist portfolio who may be appointed under Annex 21 (at a reduced percentage of band top). Welsh speaking/listening skills at Level 3 are desirable, DBS checks are required and Skilled Worker sponsorship applicants will be considered.
