A part-time Biomedical Scientist role is available with Health Services Laboratories at the Ramsay Rivers TDL laboratory in Sawbridgeworth (CM21 0HH). The busy 24/7 service offers flexible shift patterns — evenings, nights or weekends — making this post ideal for people who need to balance work with caring responsibilities. You will work on multidisciplinary bench duties across Haematology, Biochemistry, Coagulation and Immunoassays, with Blood Transfusion experience desirable. Key tasks include specimen preparation and analysis, operating and maintaining analysers, quality control, interpreting complex data, authorising reports and communicating results to clinicians. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota carries additional payments.

This permanent, part-time post suits HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists with an IBMS-accredited degree and ongoing CPD, though applicants with strength in one or more disciplines will be trained in others. Salary is up to £26,040 per annum DOE and annual reviews are not limited by banding, so pay can reflect experience. The role comes with solid staff benefits — training and development, 28 days annual leave, pension contributions, cash healthcare, gym discounts, sick pay entitlement, life and income protection, season ticket loans, Perkbox and an Employee Assistance Programme.
