Job description
Call Handler (Health Care Assistant) at Hospiscare, based in Exeter (Searle House, EX2) — a permanent, part-time role on Agenda for Change Band 3, salary £24,937–£26,598. You will be the first point of telephone contact for patients, families and health professionals, providing person-centred support, triage and clear handovers to Clinical Nurse Specialists and the wider community team. Day-to-day you will manage sensitive conversations, keep accurate clinical records, contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions and help identify complex bereavement needs for onward support. The role requires demonstrable clinical experience in adult specialist palliative care, a Level 3 health and social care qualification (or equivalent), strong communication and IT skills, the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and willingness to work across community and inpatient settings on a 7-day rota. An enhanced DBS check (Adults Barred List) is required and applications from those needing skilled worker sponsorship will be considered.
