Job summary
- Working in the Clinical Audit and Research Unit, the Cardiac Data Officer will manage the London Ambulance Survive (LAS) Cardiac Arrest Registry to a high standard through accurate data collection, input and quality assurance.
- The Cardiac Data Officer will be required to enter and analyse data relating to all people in London who have suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and have been treated by LAS clinicians. They will use this information to produce routine reports about clinical and operational performance which will be used by the LAS and other agencies to inform and enhancepatient care.
- The Cardiac Data Officer will also support cardiac-related clinical audit and research activities.
Main duties of the job
- Extract, input and verify data into the Cardiac Arrest Registry from the emergency 999 call log and patient records to include clinical, performance and operational information. Interpret recorded information to determine the care that was given to patients andtranslate cases where documentation is readily codeable.
- Merge information where more than one record exists for each patient.
- Utilise software to match defibrillator downloads to patient records and add to the registryinformation from the downloads accordingly

- Undergraduate degree in a relevant area (science or social science) or evidence of academic ability to this level
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Experience and knowledge of writing and executing simple SQL queries
- Experience and knowledge of using Power BI to produce reports
- Demonstrable working knowledge of computer packages including and Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Email and Outlook
- Good time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to plan ahead to meet tight deadlines without compromising standards
- Able to write clear and concise reports and summarise information whilst retaining meaning
- Able to deliver formal and informal presentations
- Able to deal confidentially with personal and sensitive information
