Job description
As a Cardiorespiratory Assistant based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DN2) you’ll deliver practical, patient-facing diagnostic care across cardiac and respiratory pathways. Day-to-day duties include performing electrocardiography and spirometry, fitting and removing ambulatory ECG and respiratory devices, accurate data entry and general administrative support. The role is primarily hospital-based but requires flexibility to cover other DBTH sites; hours can be full- or part-time and the post is permanent (Band 2, pro rata salary £24,465). You will study for an SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography and an ARTP Certificate in Spirometry as part of the role, so it suits someone keen to build clinical skills while working closely with patients and a supportive team.
This post is ideal for caring, organised people — particularly women looking for a role that balances hands-on patient work with predictable NHS benefits. Essential requirements include three GCSEs (grade 4/C or above) including English, Maths and a Science plus a Level 2 healthcare qualification or equivalent experience, good IT skills and prior patient-centred hospital experience; a Disclosure and Barring Service check is required. DBTH offers a strong learning culture, NHS pension, generous holiday entitlement, health and wellbeing support, and flexible working conversations to help fit work around caring responsibilities.
