Job description
Darwin Medical Practice in Burntwood (WS7) is looking for compassionate Care Navigators to work across three local surgeries, supporting a busy team of over 30 navigators within a 100‑strong practice serving nearly 23,000 patients. This hands‑on, patient‑facing role is the first point of contact by phone, in person and online — guiding patients to the right service, booking and rearranging appointments, processing prescriptions, managing the general inbox and coding incoming clinical correspondence on the practice IT system. The post is permanent, part‑time (practice hours 07:30–18:30 Monday to Friday) with a minimum of three fixed shifts per week plus regular bank shifts; pay starts at £12.85 per hour and increases after 12 months. You will work alongside clinicians and external providers to help patients navigate care, maintain a welcoming reception, and support the smooth running of the practice while upholding confidentiality and health & safety standards.
This opportunity will suit experienced reception or customer‑facing staff who thrive under pressure, are flexible, and care about making a real difference — particularly those balancing caring responsibilities or looking for reliable part‑time hours. The practice values ongoing development, regular team briefings and a supportive atmosphere, and offers on‑the‑job training with familiar NHS systems (EMIS/Docman experience desirable). A DBS check is required. If you want a practical, varied role that directly improves patient experience, please click the "Apply Now" button alongside this advert to submit your application via jobsincare.com.
