Play a central role in improving patient safety and quality of care across York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals by coordinating Clinical Governance and risk activity within a Care Group. You will lead investigations into serious incidents, bring together complex information, and communicate sensitively with staff, patients and relatives where cultural or communication challenges arise. The role also supports complaints investigations, drives compliance with external standards such as CQC, delivers teaching and practical advice on clinical governance, and ensures lessons from incidents, audits and reviews are embedded in practice. This post suits experienced clinical governance practitioners, nurses or senior carers with strong investigative, communication and coaching skills who want to make a tangible difference to patient safety every day.

Two vacancies are available: a 12‑month fixed‑term/secondment in the Medicine Care Group based in Scarborough, and a permanent role in the Surgery Care Group based in York (full time, with some cross‑site travel).
