Job description
We are seeking an experienced compassionate and dedicated Clinical Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will already be working in a similar position in primary care. You will be part of our clinical team offering a wide range of services such as phlebotomy, spirometry, ECG's, vaccinations, BP checks and health checks and be familiar with Systmone patient record system.
Your main duties and responsibilities include:
- Be qualified & competent in a range of services for our patients such as vaccination, phlebotomy, 24 hour and other blood pressure readings, spirometry & asthma checks, ECG's, weight monitoring, foot assessments, wound management, learning disability reviews and Urine analysis
- Vaccinating and other immunisations such as seasonal flu injections, B12 etc
- Carrying out baseline observations and facilitating specific patient monitoring.
- Undertaking venepuncture
- Supporting the Practice Nurse with the management of chronic diseases, healthcare promotions, and specimen analysis.
- Do new patient health checks and registrations and other health reviews
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and upholding infection control and clinical waste protocols.
- Proficient IT skills and have experience of Systmone being competent in maintaining accurate records of care provided.
- Able to offer diet, lifestyle and smoking cessation advice
- Monitoring and maintaining all medical equipment, including emergency equipment.
- Ensuring all clinical rooms are well-stocked and prepared for consultations.
- Be flexible and helpful and willing to do new services & requirements as and when they need to be done and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
