The States of Guernsey are looking to hire a Clinical Pharmacist (Band 7) for their Hospital Services team. This role involves delivering comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across various specialist areas, providing expert pharmaceutical advice to multidisciplinary teams, and managing dispensary-based clinical pharmacy duties. Key responsibilities include reconciling medications at patient admission and discharge, ensuring compliance with legal and policy frameworks, reporting and investigating clinical incidents, and developing local clinical pharmacy services aligned with national standards. The pharmacist will lead on medication safety initiatives, engage in clinical audits, and contribute to the training and development of pharmacy and healthcare staff.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Clinical Pharmacist will also focus on service development, such as enhancing discharge processes, and ensuring the economical use of medications. They will participate in ward rounds, conduct clinical checks on prescriptions, and provide medication information to healthcare professionals and patients. The role requires strong leadership capabilities to manage complex situations and support the professional development of the Medicines Management team while adhering to best practice guidelines and policies. The successful candidate will be committed to ongoing personal and professional development, contributing to the overall quality of the pharmaceutical services provided by the hospital.
