Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Major Trauma Centre at St George's Hospital. This role provides an opportunity to work with patients with serious and life changing injuries, their families and staff members working within the Major Trauma service.
The post holder will have the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team where psychology is valued and well established. Alongside active clinical role, the post holder will have opportunities to shape and develop psychological care pathways within the Major Trauma Centre as part of the Integrated Psychological Model of Care pilot.
Main duties of the job
The Focus Will Be On The Implementation And Maintenance Of This New Integrated Model Within The Trust, Putting Patients At The Heart Of This Transformation, But Also Working In Collaboration With Similar Roles Across The London System To Establish Good Lines Of Communication And System Wide Governance.This New Role Will Support The Delivery Of The Expected Outcomes Of The Model:

- Improving clinical outcomes as patients are:
- supported with treatment adherence
- supported to engage in Trauma rehab
- supported to manage their mental health
- receiving interventions from psychological specialists with expertise in both psychological/mental health and Trauma rather than generalists.
- Consultation, liaison, and training of other staff across the pathway (Doctors, Nurses, Trauma Coordinators) to enhance psychological understanding and skills of other professionals seen by the patient.
- Providing London with a comprehensive psychological response service for major incident and terrorist events.

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
- Experience of psychological work with people with physical health problems.
