Make a real difference as a Clinical Support Worker with Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in Luton. In this part‑time, permanent role you will deliver hands‑on, patient‑centred care: admit patients for surgery, support pre‑ and post‑operative care, assist registered nurses with personal hygiene and observations, help maintain tissue integrity, keep equipment and the ward environment clean and safe, escalate concerns and liaise sensitively with patients’ families. You’ll be working closely with a team in modern, uplifting clinical areas as maternity, neonatal, critical care and theatres move into the new Acute Services Block and Ward Block.
This role is ideal for compassionate carers with strong communication skills and a calm, practical approach — especially women seeking flexible hours, a return to clinical practice or a role that values caring experience. The Trust offers a strong programme of NHS training and development, values‑based and inclusive recruitment, and recognised pay (circa £24,625–£25,674). A six‑month probationary period applies and occasional travel between hospital sites may be required. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.
