An enthusiastic clinical support worker to join our dynamic Breast unit team.The post holder will be required to work across all group sites as required by the needs of the service. The candidate will be providing compassionate and empathetic care to patients whilst they have ultrasound imaging. The role provides support to the Consultant Radiologists and, Consultant Radiographers to ensure that the best quality of care is provided. Consideration may be given to interview candidates who do not have the full qualifications. These will be employed at a Band 2 until qualified. The duties are varied and include but are not limited to; room preparation, trolley setting, chaperoning, assisting patients and some clerical work. This role provides hands on patient care and support for all ladies attending the Breast Unit. The main duties of this role take place in a clinical room working closely with the consultants and patients during ultrasound imaging and invasive clinical procedures. The Breast Unit is a busy department working within both the National Breast Screening service and a symptomatic breast service. The ability to work in a team and to communicate in a wide variety of settings is essential. The post holder would be expected to travel independently between all group sites on a rotational basis. To assist Consultants, as required, with drainage and aspiration procedures. To provide after- care and wound dressing. Assist in delivering optimal patient flow through the breast clinics, in order to provide the best patient experience.
