You will work in the busy Assessment and Medical Short Stay Unit, supporting safe admission and assessment of patients and delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Day-to-day duties include personal care, nutritional support and toileting; assisting registered nurses with diagnostic and clinical tasks such as ECGs, venepuncture, peripheral IV access and cannulation, capillary blood glucose testing, urinalysis and pregnancy testing; formed stoma care; pressure area risk assessment; minor injury treatments and wound assessment (excluding suturing); safe patient transfers, accurate documentation and participation in audit and training for new starters. The role keeps patients at the heart of care in one of the North West’s largest acute trusts and offers hands-on clinical experience in a well-respected, fast-moving environment.
