A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Alfred Barrow District Nursing team as a Community District Nursing Administrator. This permanent, part‑time role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Alfred Barrow Health Centre in Barrow‑in‑Furness (Band 3, £24,937–£26,598 pro rata). You will be the hub of a supportive, professional team: answering telephones, managing non‑clinical administrative duties, inputting patient data for audits and spreadsheets, preparing notes, scanning and archiving records, ordering equipment and supplies, and taking accurate minutes. The post involves compassionate, clear communication with patients, relatives, carers and other professionals, following Caldicott confidentiality principles, and working closely with senior nursing staff who triage referrals. A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check is required and training on NHS systems is provided to help you succeed.
This role will suit an organised, adaptable administrator — particularly women and those with caring responsibilities who value reliable, part‑time hours and meaningful community work. Essential requirements include NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), GCSEs including English (or equivalent), experience of office IT and Microsoft 365, good written and oral communication, accuracy with data, and minute‑taking. You’ll have the chance to develop NHS skills, contribute to effective clinical time management and support patients to remain independent.
