Job description
Provide practical rehabilitation and hands-on support to adults across North Dorset as a Community Rehabilitation Assistant with the Blandford Integrated Community Rehab Team based at Blandford Hospital (DT11 7DD). You will deliver face-to-face therapy in people’s homes and community settings, help prevent avoidable hospital admissions and support earlier discharges, and in-reach onto wards when needed. The small, multidisciplinary team includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, a registered nurse, therapy assistant practitioners and other rehabilitation staff, so you’ll work closely with clinicians while carrying out tasks both under supervision and independently within your competence. This is a permanent, full-time Band 3 role (salary £24,937–£26,598) for candidates eligible to work in the UK without Skilled Worker sponsorship; an Enhanced DBS is required (the Trust covers the cost).
This role suits someone with experience in rehabilitation or a caring role who is confident, organised and flexible — able to visit clients in their own homes (driving and use of own vehicle required) and manage sensitive conversations. NVQ Level 2/3 or willingness to work towards it, basic IT skills and good written and verbal English are desirable; you’ll receive regular supervision, appraisals and training to develop your clinical skills in a supportive, inclusive environment — Dorset HealthCare is CQC-rated and values staff who care. If this sounds like the practical, people-focused role you’ve been looking for, please click the “Apply Now” button alongside this advert to begin your application — you can also find the vacancy on jobsincare.com.
