Work as a Community Support Worker/Trainee with the North Yorkshire and York CAMHS Eating Disorders home treatment team, based in York (Orca House) with outreach across the locality including Harrogate, Northallerton and Scarborough. You’ll deliver hands-on home and clinic-based care between 08:00 and 20:00 across seven days, providing meal support and observed meals, contributing to goal-setting and reviews, and working alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team to reduce hospital admissions. This fast-paced but highly rewarding role suits someone calm, organised and able to work independently under clinical direction — particularly women and experienced carers who bring compassion, patience and excellent communication to families and young people. The post requires a DBS check, the Right to Work in the UK and the ability to travel independently; sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route is not available for this role.

This is a permanent, full-time Band 3 role (£24,937–£26,598 per year) with a clear development pathway: candidates must hold (or enrol on as trainees) the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy, with the Trust’s HCA competencies to be achieved within the stated timeframes (6 months for standard posts, up to 2 years for trainees). You’ll receive a structured induction, regular clinical and line supervision and ongoing training, with travel expenses and time included when working across the locality; reasonable adjustments will be considered under the Equality Act.
