University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust seeks a Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist to join its Wessex Neurological Centre at Southampton General Hospital (SO16 6YD). This permanent, full‑time post (10 PA) starts ASAP, offers a salary of £109,725–£145,478 depending on experience and closes on 19 October 2025, with interviews on 19 November 2025. The role anchors a consultant‑led diagnostic neuroradiology service covering adult and paediatric work, 24/7 regional tertiary support (including Level 1 Trauma and a Comprehensive Stroke Centre with a seven‑day thrombectomy service), and opportunity to develop subspecialty interests such as neuro‑oncology, epilepsy, MS, spine or paediatrics.
You’ll share a rota (intended 1 in 7 with prospective cover), contribute to service development, protocol optimisation, audit and training, and take part in research and education at one of England’s largest teaching trusts. Applicants should hold FRCR (or equivalent), full GMC registration with a licence to practise and completed specialist neuroradiology training; sponsorship and DBS checks are supported where required.
