CONSULTANT NEURORADIOLOGIST -With an interest in Diagnostic Neuroradiology
Part Time 10 Programmed Activities
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Neuro-radiologist. This is a new post. The Walton centre NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist Trust providing Neurological and Neurosurgical care for a population of 3.4 million. The successful candidates will support the existing team of 15 Neuro-radiologist (8 diagnostic and 7 diagnostic and interventional neuro-radiologists).
The post i will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of the new Consultant contract. The successful applicant must have full GMC registration, possess FRCR (or equivalent), have completed specialist training and be entered on the specialist register of the GMC (or have an expected CCT date within six months of the interview). The applicant should have evidence of suitable neuroradiology subspecialty training.

The successful candidate will be required to pay for an enhanced disclosure - CRB check.
The successful applicant will be expected to work with the other Neuro-radiologists to manage the workload of the department. They are expected to collaborate with the Clinical Director for Neuroradiology, for any service developments, and for meeting service performance requirements. The department of Neuroradiology sits within the Neurology Division and the Divisional Director of Neurology has overall responsibility.
The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with Neurosurgical teams and Anaesthetists to provide inpatient and outpatient care for neurovascular patients.
Undergraduate Education
Students from the University of Liverpool are attached to the Walton Centre and Consultants participate in undergraduate teaching.
Research and Development
Clinical research in the department is encouraged and supported. The Walton Centre has its own active Neurological Research Centre to facilitate and support trials and other research activities. There is a Research & Development Manager within the Trust, whose role is to facilitate research, in particular advising on sources of funding.
Audit
It is expected that the consultant will take part in Divisional and multi disciplinary audit activities.
CPD
It is expected that the consultant will take advantage of continuing professional development. All reasonable requests for study leave will be considered by the Divisional Management team and usually agreed and at least partly funded.
