A permanent, community‑based Consultant Psychiatrist post in Adult Learning Disability is available at North Moor House, Northallerton (DL6 2FG), covering Hambleton & Richmondshire and the Botton Village community. The role involves running clinics, undertaking home visits as required, and working with identified keyworkers (usually community nurses) to manage caseloads for a population of around 150,000. You will triage and advise on referrals alongside local teams, liaise with primary care, local authority and voluntary partners, and attend regular meetings with acute liaison services, social care and GP practices. There is ready access to inpatient care where needed (Greenlight admissions and Learning Disability assessment and treatment beds at Bankfields Court) and Responsible Clinician duties are managed by inpatient colleagues. The post is consultant grade, eligible for recruitment premia, approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, offers part‑time and flexible working and a salary band of £105,504–£139,882.

This post will suit an experienced psychiatrist with strong clinical skills in learning disability, clear leadership and multidisciplinary working, and a commitment to teaching, audit and quality improvement. Applicants must hold GMC registration and be prepared to work under MHA and MCA duties; applicants needing Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered and the role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
