Make a tangible difference to patient care as a Consultant Radiologist specialising in General and Neuro Imaging with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, based in Derby (DE22 3NE). This substantive, permanent Consultant post (10 PAs: 8.5 DCC + 1.5 SPA; part‑time patterns considered) supports imaging across major acute sites (RDH and QHB) and an expanding network of community diagnostic centres and seven community hospitals. You’ll join a large, collegial department with modern kit—10 MRI scanners, 11 CTs, five fluoroscopy rooms, interventional suites and a hybrid theatre—work alongside specialist radiologists and reporting radiographers, participate on the diagnostic on‑call rota at Royal Derby Hospital, and benefit from home‑reporting facilities and flexible job planning (many consultants condense full‑time hours into four days).

The post blends general and sub‑specialist reporting (Neuroradiology desirable) with teaching, supervision of trainees, audit and CPD; essential criteria include MBBS/FRCR and GMC specialist registration (or within six months of CCT / CESR application under consideration). The Trust offers strong induction and ongoing support, a purpose‑built Radiology Academy, development and leadership opportunities, and staff benefits that support work–life balance—appealing to carers and women seeking flexibility without compromising clinical ambition.
