Job description
This Dietetic Assistant Practitioner (Pulmonary Rehabilitation) role with Swansea Bay University Health Board is based in Neath Port Talbot and works across the Swansea Bay UHB area supporting patients with chronic respiratory conditions. You will work within a multi‑disciplinary pulmonary rehabilitation team to support registered dietitians by carrying out nutritional screening and assessments (weight, height, BMI and percentage weight loss), calculating requirements and dietary analysis, delivering structured education to groups, encouraging and monitoring adherence to dietetic care plans, and managing related administration and stock control. The post involves contact with patients and families in outpatient clinics, community groups and patients’ homes, so the ability to travel and work flexibly is essential.
This permanent, part‑time Band 4 post (Agenda for Change) offers a pro‑rata salary of £27,898–£30,615 and strong opportunities for training and development, including Agored Cymru qualifications. It’s an ideal role for experienced healthcare assistants, carers or support workers with HND/BTEC‑level qualifications or equivalent nutrition training who enjoy patient education and team working; good communication, accurate record‑keeping and experience in NHS or social care settings are important. Welsh language skills are desirable, the post is subject to a DBS check, and sponsorship applications are welcome.
