Job description
Lead clinical services across one of the region’s largest surgical divisions as Divisional Medical Director - Surgery for University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, based at Royal Derby Hospital (DE22 3NE). This full‑time, 3‑year fixed‑term consultant post (renewable) offers a salary of £109,725–£145,478 and up to four Direct Clinical Care/Supporting Professional Activities. Applicants must hold GMC specialist registration with a full licence to practise and have significant recent senior experience in operational delivery, clinical quality, people management and financial control. You will provide medical advice to the Divisional Management Team and Executive Board, take responsibility for job‑planning, appraisal and revalidation, lead performance management for Clinical Directors and specialty leads, and drive service transformation, patient safety and high‑quality surgical care across Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
