Job description
As a Domestic Assistant at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Leigh Infirmary (WN7), you will play a vital hands-on role keeping wards and hospital areas clean, safe and dignified for patients. This part-time, permanent Band 2 post (£24,465 pa pro rata) is Monday–Friday, 17:00–20:00 and the Trust is recruiting for three posts. Day-to-day duties include general and isolation cleaning, high and low dusting, wet and dry mopping, toilet and washbasin cleaning, emptying clinical and general waste, vacuuming, mechanical scrubbing and buffing, carpet shampooing and safe use of chemicals and cleaning machinery. You will be supported to undertake terminal and infection cleans (including Bioquell Q50 HPV where required), deal with uncontained body fluid spillages in line with Trust policy, use warning signage to maintain safety and receive full on-the-job training — no prior experience is necessary. The role suits practical, caring people who take pride in visible results, can communicate clearly, organise tasks and work flexibly to meet service needs.
