Job description
Provide a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff as a Domestic Assistant at Berrywood Hospital in Northampton (NN5) with Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. This permanent, part‑time role (25 hours per week) follows a two‑week rota: week one Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 08:00–13:00; week two Monday to Friday 08:00–13:00, with weekends paid at the NHS enhanced rate. Working to NHS National Cleaning Specifications, you will carry out general and clinical cleaning of patient, public and staff areas, floor maintenance (mopping, carpet and mat shampooing), removal of waste and clinical waste, admission and infection cleans, laundering and hanging curtains, and safe use and storage of Trust‑supplied chemicals in line with COSHH. You will use machinery safely, follow the ward colour‑coded system, wear supplied uniform and complete mandatory training and appraisals.
