A short-term locum opportunity with real purpose: Enfield Legal Services is seeking an Experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to cover maternity leave from 24 November to 5 December 2025. This full-time agency role (35 hours per week, Mon–Fri 09:00–17:30) is based at Enfield Civic Centre with hybrid working of up to three days remote per week and a requirement to attend the office at least two days weekly (up to five days during probation). The role is inside IR35 and pays competitively — £34.04/hr PAYE or £42.46/hr Umbrella/Ltd — offering a chance to manage a varied and meaningful caseload while maintaining flexible working arrangements that suit carers and those balancing family responsibilities.

You will provide specialist advice and representation across adult social care areas including Court of Protection and DoLS, S21A applications, safeguarding, homelessness, the Care Act and Mental Health Act, education-related matters, judicial review and leaving care (s17 Children Act). Ideal applicants are Solicitors, Barristers or Fellows of CILEX with proven adult social care experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to handle complex work under pressure.
