Mencap is recruiting a Female Outreach Support Worker in Leeds to provide one-to-one community support for a young woman with a learning disability. The role involves accompanying her to chosen activities, offering emotional and practical support tailored to her needs, and helping her build confidence and independence. You will need to travel to Pudsey (LS28) and Cookridge (LS16), be comfortable using public transport and walking between bus stops, and be able to swim. This permanent, part-time role is paid at £12.21 per hour and typically offers two 17.5-hour weeks with flexible hours; shifts are usually Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00 but will vary according to activities and may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. This post is for female applicants only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1). Training in epilepsy and autism within the last three years is desirable, though full training will be provided.
