Reference: 57774bf0 We are looking to recruit a Female Support Worker to provide support for a 55-year-old lady. She is a friendly person and quiet until you get to know her. The purpose of your role will be to enable her independence, provide companionship and to take part in activities she enjoys. You will mostly support out in the community. You will support with favorite activities such as going shopping, out for lunch, trips on the bus, going to watch a film at the cinema. Busy and loud places can be a struggle so you will need to be mindful of this when planning the day. This lady enjoys taking part in crafts such as knitting and watching TV. It will be an advantage, however not essential if you have experience of supporting people with autism, ADHD or learning disabilities. You will support within her home as it is hoped that she will get a new property to move into in the near future. We would also like you to be able to suggest things to do out in the community so you should be willing to be proactive in finding various activities to take part in. We would prefer you to be a car driver with your own transport, however this isn’t essential as public transport can be used with access to a carer’s pass. Expenses will be met by your employer. Hours - 10 hours per week to be worked as 2 x 5-hour shifts over the week. MAIN DUTIES · Support with enabling independence · Assist with taking part in activities and to pursue hobbies and interests · Ensure safety when out and about Rate of pay £13.72 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata Person Specification Successful applicant must: · Ideally have experience working as a support worker with children or adults · Have a positive understanding towards people with disabilities · Have a genuine interest in working within social care · Have a high degree of initiative · Be punctual and reliable · Be flexible · Have a happy, positive and caring nature. · Respect confidentiality. Car driver preferable however not essential and must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by employer.
