This permanent, part-time General Practice Assistant role at Mowbray House Surgery is based at Hutton Rudby with cover across the Mowbray House site in Yarm (TS15). Working over Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, you will be part of a progressive, supportive nursing team delivering hands‑on, patient‑centred care within agreed practice protocols. Day‑to‑day duties include running and supporting chronic disease clinics, managing long‑term conditions, carrying out venepuncture, BP checks, 12‑lead ECGs and baseline observations, wound care and suture/clip removal, administering vaccinations and vitamin B12 injections, specimen testing and recording, new patient checks and chaperoning. You’ll also assist with medication reviews, inhaler checks, call/recall systems and the smooth running of treatment room and clinical governance tasks such as fridge monitoring and infection control.

Ideal for experienced Health Care Assistants or carers who want a varied clinical and administrative role, this post requires strong communication, good IT skills (SystmOne experience essential), confidentiality, time management and the ability to work flexibly across both surgery sites. The practice offers continual professional development, annual appraisal, teamwork with care coordinators and social prescribers, and a chance to focus on proactive, evidence‑based care for patients with complex needs while contributing to QoF and IIF targets.
