Job description
Support the General Surgery team at Northampton General Hospital as a Band 3 Support Typist, part‑time and onsite in NN1. You will provide accurate, confidential secretarial and administrative support to consultants, medical staff and the wider clinical team — typing clinical letters, discharge summaries, medico‑legal reports and results from audio/digital dictation to Trust turnaround targets. The role includes managing telephone enquiries with tact and discretion, coordinating diaries, filing and general office duties, and providing cross‑cover or supervising administrative colleagues when required. Core hours are normally 08:00–17:00 with some local flexibility to align with clinical sessions. This is a fixed‑term post (six months) paid at Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata) and will require a DBS check; skilled worker sponsorship applications will be considered.
