Job description
Work as a Generic Therapy Assistant Practitioner within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board’s new Intermediate Care Service, delivering urgent community response and short-term rehabilitation to help people leave hospital sooner or avoid admission. You will support Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists by carrying a delegated caseload of non-complex patients, providing home-based interventions, environmental assessments and fitting assistive equipment, and undertaking clinical and administrative tasks within agreed protocols. The role involves close liaison with local authorities and third-sector partners, contributing to service audits and outcome data, and promoting patients’ independence, dignity and wellbeing. This is a community-based post, so flexible travel across Rhondda Cynon Taf is essential.
This permanent Band 4 position (salary £27,898–£30,615 pro rata) offers full- and part-time hours, NHS pension and learning and development opportunities – ideal for women carers and experienced Band 3 assistants who want to develop clinical skills and progress their career within a supportive, values-driven NHS Wales employer. Applicants should have good general education (GCSE English/Maths or equivalent), NVQ level 3 or equivalent knowledge, experience in rehabilitation or assistant roles, and strong communication and time-management skills; a DBS check will be required and Welsh speaking/listening skills are desirable.
