Job description
Health Care Assistant - Cardiology Ward 7a at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (Southport, PR8). In this fixed‑term, part‑time Band 2 role (10 months) you will provide hands‑on personal care for cardiology patients under the supervision of registered nurses — assisting with hygiene, feeding, mobility and basic observations, recording care in line with Trust policy and supporting the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, person‑centred care. The position includes routine duties such as maintaining a recovery‑focused ward environment, helping train new staff in ward routines where required, attending mandatory updates (fire and moving & handling) and participating in an annual performance review. Please note the post involves frequent manual handling, occasional exposure to distressing situations and blood/body fluids, and is subject to a DBS check; interview date to be confirmed. Salary is Band 2, £24,465 per annum pro rata.
