Job summary

Main duties of the job
* To prioritise and organise the workload to ensure that a proficient service is provided at all times. * To check patient rooms and waiting areas for new admissions and carry out room checks daily.* Inform Ward co-ordinator, Sister/Nurse in charge, of any room changes or cancellation of patients etc.* To know how to prepare patient medical folders and related documentation for patients prior to admission, and print patient labels and ID wristbands and check allergies as patients arrive on the unit.* To inform departments of appointments required by patients for x-rays, physiotherapy, scanning and out-patient appointments as instructed by the Nurses/Sister/ Nurse-in-Charge.

to join our Day Surgery Unit at The London Clinic. This role offers the opportunity to work in a busy, patient-focused environment where you will play a key part in supporting the nursing and medical teams to deliver high standards of personalised care across a wide range of day case procedures. You will assist with the daily operation of the Day Surgery and Walk-in Walk-out areas, providing hands-on clinical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the unit. The role requires a confident and adaptable individual with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct support to nursing staff and consultants in preparing patients for surgery and recovery.Perform basic clinical observations including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.Carry out routine procedures such as urinalysis, pregnancy testing, ECGs, phlebotomy, wound dressings, and venepuncture once trained and competent.Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control within the department.Act as a chaperone during clinical procedures, supporting patients with dignity and respect at all times.Support the nursing team in maintaining stock levels and preparing rooms for admissions.Skills and
