Play a vital clinical role as a Health Care Assistant at Clayton Brook Surgery, based in Preston (PR5), supporting patients across Clayton Brook and occasionally at our partner site, Moss Side Medical Centre in Leyland. This position is for 24 hours per week (ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with an additional 13.5 hours supporting the Medicines Co-ordinator to bring the role to full-time. You will work hands-on with the clinical team to deliver patient-centred care — carrying out routine observations (BP, pulse, temperature, height/weight/BMI), phlebotomy, ECGs, urinalysis, NHS Health Checks, frailty and long-term condition reviews (diabetes, respiratory, cardiovascular, hypertension), vaccination support (flu, shingles, pneumococcal, RSV and B12 under supervision), basic wound care if trained, and accurate clinical coding in EMIS Web. Mobility between sites, flexibility to cover short-notice changes, and the legal right to live and work in the UK are essential; please note the practice cannot offer visa sponsorship.

This role suits experienced primary care staff who want a supportive, family-minded workplace that invests in training and development. Clayton Brook Surgery is part of a cohesive team that values compassion, quality and continuous improvement — ideal for carers and women seeking a role that fits around other responsibilities while delivering meaningful patient contact. Essential requirements include previous General Practice experience, relevant qualifications (Level 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent, Care Certificate) and demonstrable competency in phlebotomy; a DBS check will be required.
