Job description
Full-time, permanent Healthcare Support Worker role at Ty Llywelyn Medium Secure Unit (Bryn y Neuadd Hospital, Llanfairfechan, Conwy, LL33) working within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This Band 3 post (£25,313–£26,999) supports recovery-focused forensic mental health care for a male-only patient group, so applications are being invited from male candidates to meet service needs. Under the supervision of registered nurses you will deliver person-centred, direct care, assist with day-to-day needs, observe and report changes in behaviour, physical condition and social interaction, and work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to protect dignity and promote equality. Experience with patients living with dementia and knowledge of mental health issues are important; willingness to undertake NVQ Level 3 is desirable. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required and applicants who need Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered.
Betsi Cadwaladr offers a supportive environment with leadership development, in-work training and a clear competence framework that values compassionate, skilled carers. Welsh speakers are welcome and applications may be submitted in Welsh; the trust is committed to equality and is a Disability Confident employer. This is meaningful, hands-on work for people who care deeply and want to make a real difference — an excellent fit for experienced carers and those seeking progression in mental health settings.
