Support children with complex healthcare needs for Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust from a base in Preston (Ashton Health Centre, PR2). This permanent, full‑time Band 3 role (salary £24,937–£26,598) sits in the Children’s Packages of Care Team within the Children’s Complex Needs Nursing Service and involves lone working to provide hands‑on care in homes, schools and community settings. After full training and competency assessment you will independently deliver personal care, moving and handling, medication administration and support for clinical needs such as tracheostomies, gastrostomies and oxygen therapy. Shift patterns vary across days, nights and weekends (night‑only patterns considered), and you’ll be expected to travel across Lancashire between Burnley and Preston bases, so a valid UK driving licence or reliable transport is essential. Please note: due to UK Visa & Immigration changes, the Trust cannot progress applications requiring visa sponsorship; if you already have sponsorship you will need to provide evidence of 12 months’ Right to Work.

This role is ideal for caring, organised people—particularly women seeking meaningful, flexible work—who have experience in health, social care or education and hold (or are willing to achieve) NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent. You’ll be supported by an experienced management team, peer colleagues and regular team days, with ongoing training, well‑being sessions and a clear personal development plan that can lead to progression such as a Nursing Associate pathway. As an NHS post you’ll receive recognised staff benefits including enhanced pay for nights and weekends, pension, paid sick leave and annual leave; travel expenses are reimbursed in line with Trust policy.
