Job summary
HIOW Healthcare is looking for an enthusiastic, capable and caring individual to join our Community Nursing Team in Southampton as a Health Care Support Worker in the Southampton Community Nursing Service.If successful, you will be working as part of a community nursing team based at Royal South Hants Hospital. Community nursing provides care and treatment for adults with complex health and care needs. This care is provided in their own homes, care homes and clinic settings. You will be lone working but also part of a supportive team.Candidates will ideally be in possession of an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, but full training will be provided to enable you to fulfil your role. Training will be provided in a variety of ways such as attending training sessions, online and working 1to1 with other clinical staff. HIOW Healthcare is committed to your career development and there are numerous opportunities and pathways for this.The Community Nursing service covers from to 2000 hours, 7 days a week. This includes weekends and bank holidays, with an expectation of working 1 in 4 weekends.Only open to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to: Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service, Isle of Wight NHS FT or Hampshire Hospitals FT.
Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be part of a team who supports the delivery of nursing care to clients within their own home environment.Ensure that patients receive safe, individualised and effective standards of care by following care plans and treatment interventions as delegated by the registered nurse.Under delegation of the nurse in charge, work competently and without direct supervision within an agreed framework.
