Job description
As a Health Care Support Worker based at Royal South Hants Hospital in Southampton (SO14), you will deliver hands‑on nursing support to adults with complex needs across patients’ own homes, care homes and clinic settings. This permanent, part‑time Band 3 role (Agenda for Change, £24,937–£26,598 full‑time equivalent) involves lone working within an agreed framework while remaining part of a supportive community nursing team. The Community Nursing service operates 08:30–20:00, seven days a week, with an expectation to work 1 in 4 weekends and bank holidays. Duties include carrying out delegated care and treatment plans competently and safely, following the direction of the registered nurse. This post is open only to applicants employed within the Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system (including Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service, Isle of Wight NHS FT or Hampshire Hospitals FT) and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
