Make a real difference and build a career in the NHS as a Health Care Support Worker supporting both mental health and physical health services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This permanent role (Band 2, £24,465 FTE) offers full- and part-time hours, a structured four‑day induction, on‑the‑job training, recognised care qualifications and access to apprenticeships in nursing and occupational therapy. You’ll work in multidisciplinary teams at sites including Parklands, Lymington, Ravenswood, Bluebird House and The Orchards, gaining practical experience across specialisms while receiving mentoring and ongoing support. The role asks for GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) and a Level 2 qualification or relevant experience; a DBS check is required.

You will support people to develop daily living skills, personal care, diet and social participation, help manage risk and build therapeutic relationships — acting as a role model for colleagues and assisting qualified staff with delegated tasks, including some housekeeping duties. This opportunity is particularly well suited to women and carers who value meaningful, people‑centred work, flexible working and clear routes for progression to Senior Health Care Support Worker or Associate Practitioner roles. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust offers a supportive, inclusive workplace guided by CARE values, and you can find and apply for this vacancy via the Apply Now button alongside this listing — you can also explore other roles on jobsincare.com.
