As a Health Promotion Outreach Worker with Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Homerton University Hospital, E5 6SR) you will deliver and coordinate health promotion activity for the NHS bowel cancer screening programme across City & Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. The role involves working closely with the Health Improvement Specialist, primary care teams, local GPs, public health, councils and community organisations to raise awareness, identify and reduce barriers to screening, run needs assessments, develop accessible information for different languages and literacy levels, and recruit and mentor local health champions. You will use behaviour change and motivational interviewing techniques, make public presentations, maintain accurate records on the BCSC monitoring system and ensure health inequalities and vulnerable groups are central to every intervention.
This permanent Band 5, full‑time role (£37,259–£45,356) is designed for an approachable, flexible communicator with a certificate/diploma (or equivalent experience) and at least two years’ experience in health promotion or a related field.
