Work as a Healthcare Assistant on the Acute Medical Unit at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust (base: Poole, BH15) supporting a busy multidisciplinary team as services merge and prepare for a move to the Royal Bournemouth site in 2026. This permanent role offers full- or part-time contracts, with training and ongoing support from the Trust’s education team. You’ll help deliver hands-on patient care, including basic clinical observations (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations), working across hospital wards when needed, and contributing to high standards of care. Applicants holding the Care Certificate will start at Band 3 (£24,625–£25,674); those without will be appointed at Band 2 initially and supported to gain required competencies. Please note the post is subject to DBS checks and sponsorship cannot be offered.

This position suits compassionate carers — particularly women balancing work and family — who have ward or care experience and enjoy team-based, practical roles where training and clear progression are available (NVQ Level 2 in Care is desirable or can be undertaken). The Trust values a collaborative approach and is investing in its services, so this is an ideal opportunity to grow your clinical skills within a supportive environment.
