Work as a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant on Ward 39 at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Blackpool, FY3) caring for patients on a busy 25‑bed mixed‑sex Cardiology/Cardiothoracic ward. The role involves hands‑on support for people recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgery and those stepped down from critical areas — assisting with personal hygiene, nutrition and hydration, theatre preparation, escorting patients to tests and supporting admissions, transfers and discharges. You’ll learn and deliver clinical skills such as observations, blood sampling (venepuncture), ECGs and simple wound care, maintain accurate records and work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team. This is a shift‑working post with internal rotation, including weekends, bank holidays and late finishes; full‑time and part‑time permanent contracts are available and core training for the role will be provided.

You will be supported by nursing and medical teams, encouraged to take part in professional development and improvement projects, and able to specialise as a champion in an area that interests you. The Trust is Disability Confident and offers real opportunities for career progression; applicants holding the Care Certificate or willing to work towards it are welcome. Salary is Agenda for Change Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 per annum, pro rata), Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered and a DBS check is required.
