Job description
Healthcare Assistant – Buckinghamshire (Marie Curie, SL1). Join a community-based team delivering compassionate, person-centred end-of-life care across Buckinghamshire. This permanent role (full-time or part-time) works mainly night shifts (10:00pm–6:30am, including bank holidays) and is paid at Agenda for Change Band 2: £24,465 pa pro rata plus night-time enhancements. You will provide high-quality personal care—maintaining skin integrity and hygiene, supporting nutrition, sleep and mobility, keeping the care environment safe and organised, and helping with symptom management—while communicating sensitively with patients and their families and contributing to individual care plans. An enhanced DBS check is required and the role suits people used to working independently with emotional resilience in community settings.

A driving licence and access to a car (willing to travel up to 25 miles) is desirable. Marie Curie offers a competitive benefits package including a defined contribution pension (charity matches up to 7.5%), 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays pro rata, industry-leading training and CPD, 45p per mile mileage, life assurance, Blue Light Card access, and staff discount schemes. Marie Curie is an inclusive employer and a Stonewall champion, and reasonable adjustments are welcomed.
