Job description
A rewarding Community Health Care Assistant role is available with the Liskeard–Looe Community Nurse Team, part of Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This permanent, part‑time Band 3 post (salary £24,937–£26,598 pro rata) is open only to current employees of Cornwall Foundation Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust or the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board. You will deliver planned nursing care to adults in their own homes — including end‑of‑life support — carrying out tasks such as wound care, venepuncture, catheter and pressure‑area care. The role supports registered nurses and often requires working without direct supervision across a flexible rota covering 08:00–22:00 with an on‑call element. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and proven care experience are essential, a Disclosure and Barring Service check is required, and the ability to travel independently around the Liskeard–Looe area is necessary; mileage is paid at Agenda for Change rates and travel time between visits is included within your shift.
This post offers genuine hands‑on practice plus real opportunities for learning and development within an integrated community nursing service. It will suit experienced carers who value being part of a compassionate team, want autonomy in their practice and prefer a flexible, part‑time pattern that fits life at home. You’ll be working for a people‑centred NHS Trust serving a unique part of Cornwall, with supportive colleagues and clear pathways to develop your skills.
