Job description
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker at Northampton General Hospital (Danetre Out Patients, London Road, Daventry, NN11), you’ll provide hands‑on personal and clinical care under the supervision of registered practitioners. This part‑time, permanent Band 3 role (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata) involves taking and recording vital signs, assisting with mobility, hygiene, dressing and toileting, supporting pressure‑area care, collecting samples and undertaking swabs if trained, escorting and transferring patients, chaperoning and participating in emergency responses. You’ll work to maintain patients’ privacy, dignity and confidentiality, support relatives and visitors, and contribute to the development of colleagues in a compassionate, values‑led environment that values diversity and inclusion.
This role is ideal for experienced carers—many of whom are women—seeking flexible, meaningful work where practical skills and empathy matter. Essential requirements include NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), the National Care Certificate, Functional Skills level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent), demonstrable HCA experience, knowledge of infection prevention and safeguarding, evidence of clinical skills within scope, and a satisfactory DBS check.
