Job description
Make a real difference in sexual health as a Healthcare Assistant with Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust at The Island Clinic, Sheppey Community Hospital, Minster on Sea (ME12). You’ll deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care—supporting contraception, treatment for sexually transmitted infections and healthy relationships—working with an enthusiastic, compassionate team in a community setting. This permanent, part‑time role is AfC Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata). Essential requirements include a QCF Level 3 (NVQ3, BTEC or equivalent) or demonstrable experience; desirable skills include phlebotomy, microscopy and basic observations. The post is subject to a DBS check. Please note this vacancy is currently open only to colleagues employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board and does not meet skilled worker sponsorship — applicants must be able to provide right to work evidence. As a community role you may be required to drive; a full UK driving licence will be requested where driving is essential, and reasonable adjustments can be discussed for candidates who cannot drive due to disability.
This post will suit compassionate carers—particularly women balancing family and work—who want hands‑on clinical practice, clear development pathways and flexible working that fits life commitments. You’ll be part of an ‘outstanding’ CQC‑rated organisation that values diversity, inclusion and professional growth, with supportive colleagues and real opportunities to build clinical skills.
